Lesson 3 of 5

Phone and WhatsApp manners at work

Simple rules that make employers trust you more.

3 min +10 points

Your phone at work

  • Keep it on silent while working.
  • Don't take personal calls in front of customers. Step away if it is urgent.
  • Never film customers, guests or patients.

WhatsApp with your employer

  • Start with a greeting: "Good morning sir."
  • Write short, clear messages. One topic per message.
  • Use voice notes only if your employer is okay with them.
  • Reply to work messages within a few hours.
  • Don't send forwards, jokes or late-night messages.

Taking leave or running late

Message before your shift, not after: "Good morning sir, I have fever today and cannot come. I will be back tomorrow. Sorry for the trouble." Clear and early messages build trust.
