PF, ESI and e-Shram, made simple

PF is savings for your future. Each month, a part of your pay and a share from your employer go into your PF account. Your UAN number keeps all your PF in one place, even when you change jobs. You can check your balance on the EPFO website or app using your UAN.

ESI gives eligible workers and their families medical care at ESI hospitals and dispensaries, and cash help during sickness or maternity. Ask your employer for your ESI card.

If you work without PF or ESI, as many daily, gig and domestic workers do, register on the government's e-Shram portal (eshram.gov.in). It is free. It gives you a card and helps you get government schemes meant for unorganised workers.
