Lesson 2 of 3

Daily vehicle checks

Five-minute checks that prevent breakdowns and impress employers.

3 min +10 points

Walk around the vehicle

  • Tyres: look for low air or cuts. Check pressure every week.
  • Lights: headlights, brake lights and indicators working.
  • Leaks: any oil or water under the vehicle.

Under the bonnet

Check engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels once a week, when the engine is cold. Top up only with the right type.

Inside

Clean the cabin, check the horn, wipers and AC. Keep a small first-aid kit and a bottle of water.

Tell your owner early

If you hear a new noise or a warning light comes on, tell the owner the same day. Small problems become expensive if ignored.
